Princeton PB55 – Forklift Truck Design
We’ve been working on forklift truck design since the early years of Form Foundry. Our focus is on ergonomics, styling, branding and product simplification; however, we also advise on materials and manufacturing processes.
Form Foundry have been a consultant to Moffett Engineering, who are part of the HIAB group, for over twenty years. Moffett, based in Ireland, are market leaders in the design and manufacture of ‘piggy-back’ forklift trucks. Moffett build the Princeton forklift in Ireland and subsequently sell it into the North American market.
Using a slightly modified Moffett production chassis, we created a new bodywork design to differentiate the Moffett and Princeton products. We took styling cues from existing Princeton products whilst at the same time creating a more modern aesthetic.
In collaboration with the Moffett engineering team, we created a series of sketches and 3D CAD visuals to communicate our design intent.
